Ragnar, Francisco, Dagny, and Henry Rearden all staged a commando raid on "Project F" and rescued John Galt before the authorities could do him any permanent injury. In this, Ragnar had the help of the entire male population of the Gulch, in addition to his own ship's crew.

He held those forces in reserve, under the command of [[Ellis Wyatt]], in case the smaller-scale raid failed. The raid succeeded, and Ragnar gave orders to evacuate to the valley.
