'''Sigourney Weaver''' (b. 1949) is an American motion picture actress. She is perhaps best known for her role as Ellen Ripley in the [[Aliens]] film series. She also played staring roles in the [[Ghostbusters]] films, and [[Gorillas in the Mist]]. She has been nominated for Academy Awards for her work in Aliens (1986), Gorillas in the Mist (1988), and Working Girl (1988). Unusually for a Hollywood personality, she has been married only once, to avant-garde theater and film director James Simpson.
