'''Ed Clark''' was the [[Libertarian Party]] candidate for [[President of the United States]] in 1980. He won 921,128 popular votes or 1.1% of the national vote, which is still the Libertarian Party's best showing in the popular vote in a Presidential election. (Their best showing in the [[electoral vote]] was in 1972 when a [[Richard Nixon|Nixon]] elector from [[Virginia]] cast his vote instead for the Libertarian candidate.)
Clark's support was strongest in some western states:

* [[Montana]] (2.7%)
* [[Wyoming]] (2.6%)
* [[Oregon]] (2.2%)
In Alaska he actually finished third, ahead of [[John Anderson]].
