Although I am firmly against communism/socialism and for capitalism and don't agree with the beliefs of everyone this article cites http://www.usatoday.com/news/religion/2011-06-03-Ayn_Rand_GOP_values_02_ST_N.htm , I do agree with the sentiments of Chuck Colson which are cited. I have never read "Atlas Shrugged" and it may contain some thoughts I may agree with, but I did see an interview of the atheist Ayn Rand and I cannot say that I was impressed. I think Colson was spot on. At the same time, I do think there is some truth to this Adam Smith quote: "It is not from the benevolence of the butcher, the brewer, or the baker that we expect our dinner, but from their regard to their own interest." Of course, if more people did their work for the glory of God, Smith's observation would be less meaningful. conservative 11:57, 6 June 2011 (EDT)

:For your atheism and smoking article, it should be noted that Ayn Rand smoked, and I believe she died of lung cancer.--CamilleT 12:01, 6 June 2011 (EDT)

::CamilleT, let me offer you a useful analogy. In the military, once a sniper takes out a target, he moves on to the next target because the target no longer poses a threat. Afterwords, others  often dispose of the body. Now unfortunately, for atheists, the New Atheism never caused a significant increase in atheism as a columnist at USA Today duly notes. So while I might be tempted to vainly bask in the glory of killing atheism via some well placed shots, the truth is that it was already dead before I arrived on the scene. I, along with others in Christendom, merely dissected the corpse of atheism and then threw some shovels of dirt on atheism to give it a proper burial. CamilleT, here is a 2011 quote from the Chronicles of Higher Learning which is cited in Conservapedia's Atheism Quotes article: "The Golden Age of Secularism has passed." - Jacques Berlinerblau[http://chronicle.com/blogs/brainstorm/obama-at-the-national-prayer-breakfast-raging-christ-fest-secular-wake/31816 ] CamilleT, here is my prediction: The Western World economy will further deteriorate leading up the 2012 election or within a few years after the 2012 election and Dawkins and company will find it increasingly difficult to get out their message to the public due to more press coverage being placed on major economic problems and the difficulties it will cause.  In addition, although this is more challenging to predict, history tells us that men often seek God in a greater manner in times of trouble which I think will also make things more difficult for Dawkins and company. With that being said, please feel free to throw some more shovels of dirt on atheism by creating more atheism related content at Conservapedia. I have some other things I want to attend to at this time that I regrettably put off and should have attended to earlier. conservative 17:05, 6 June 2011 (EDT)
