I was just wondering where Neanderthals and similar species fit in with young earth creationism. Even if they were put on the earth 6000 years ago and went extinct, what were they in relation to God? According to the Abrahamic religions, Man was created in God's image, so what does that make Neanderthals? Created almost in God's image? I am an atheist, however i fully respect the views of others and i hope any responses will also show respect to my views. I am merely trying to understand how you guys explain this type of thing.
