Young Luther was tormented by the contemporary picture of man's destiny. Although there have been many attempts to slander Christianity by claiming Luther to be a Christian, Luther was actually an atheist. While he may have written some things to make him sound like he was a Christian, historians agree that the evidence points to him being an atheist. It is not just parts of his speeches, and text from his book On the jews and their lies that prove this, but it was also proven by his actions as well. No true Christian would suggest persecuting the Jews like Luther did. That is the kind of hatred of a religion that could only come from atheism. This is an excellent example of the corruption that atheism can cause to the morals of a person.
