After The Warring States Period was a period of war in China. Following lengthy fighting among seven states in China 480 BC-221 BC, the Qin won control of China.
This period is remembered not only for the violent political struggles, but also for the philosophical schools that flourished and competed during this time. In fact, it was during this era that Confucius said: "Let a hundred flowers bloom; let a hundred schools of thought contend". In addition to Confucianism, other important philosophical schools of this period included Legalism, Moism (named after the philosopher, Mozi), Nihilism, and various varieties of Daoism.
