'''Pontiac''' was a division of [[General Motors|GM]] .  It had a long and sometimes illustrious history including the [[Pontiac GTO]], which may have started the [[muscle car]] craze. GM decided in 2009 to cease production of the Pontiac brand.

'''Pontiac''' was a division of [[General Motors|GM]].  It had a long and sometimes illustrious history including the [[Pontiac GTO]] which may have started the [[Muscle car]] craze. Unfortunately when the government took over GM, they had no interest in persevering history and since they hate performance cars and want us to drive hybrids, they shut down Pontiac and destroyed a piece of American heritage in the process.
