Gothenburg is a city in the southwest of Sweden. Gothenburg was founded in the 17th century by the swedish king Gustav II Adolf who appearently pointed at a random spot on the ground and said "Här skall staden ligga!", which in english would be something like "The city shall be situated here!", and at that exact spot gothenburg was built.

==Church of fish==
The swedes are known world wide for their atheism and liberalism. The people of Gothenburg have taken this one step further. They are so liberal that they actually sell fish in church. The church is called Feskekörka, or Church of fish, and is located near the Moat of Gothenburg. Each sunday the Moat are filled with fishing boats delivering the next weeks supply of fish.
Todays members of the church preach about the tale of Kålle the Fisherman. It is a well spread misunderstanding that Kålle the Fisherman in 1883 was the leader of the Fishermen revolution. During the short revolution a hord of angry fishermen occupied a church biulding and threw several priests into the Moat. This building have ever since then been controlled by the fishermen of Gothenburg. (Acutally Kålle was a mackerel who was stabed to death by a priest going berserk during the last, and unsuccesful, attempt to regain control over the church building.)
