Adding missing poetic foot -- preliminary, will reconsider/revise over time
A '''dactyl''' is a unit of a [[poetic meter|poetic foot]] in [[poetry]] which is made up of one stressed (accented) syllable followed by two unstressed (unaccented) syllables<ref>http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/dactyl</ref>. Lines of verse that are predominantly made up of dactyls are referred to as dactylic. For instance, if a line consisted of five sets of dactyls, it would be considered to be in dactylic pentameter.
