In [[July]] 2007 it was revealed that Villaraigosa was having an extramarital affair with a local TV newscaster who covered city hall.<ref>[http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070703/ap_on_re_us/la_mayor LA mayor in 'relationship' with reporter]</ref>  Villaraigosa, who is married and has four children, said "I made a mistake, I'm not perfect."  Ironically, this is the very reporter who reported the news of his wife filing for divorce.
