The Greek empire existed from around 750 B.C.  to 146 B.C. The period of Classical Greece  began with the first Olympic Games in 776 B.C., and came to an end after the death of Alexander the Great in 323 B.C.

One of my favorite Aesop’s Fable’s is Mercury and the Woodman. I like it because the honest woodcutter not only gets back what is his, but is also gifted with more for his honesty.

With Greek Culture came the Greek language, which was powerful enough to convey the ideas of Christianity taught by Jesus. Greek was used commonly by Jewish people in Palestine, partly in thanks to Alexander the Great. The New Testament was written in Greek, the language of the common man at the time.
