I will once again remove this 'counterexample' as the person who inserted it appears to have misunderstood the referenced article. Trichinella spiralis actually suppresses the immune response of its host under normal conditions. The immuno-suppression is only broken down when Trichinella spiralis happens to associate with other nurse-cell forming species of Trichinella, ''and'' when the host is then repeatedly exposed to infective L1 larvae via the oral route. These are very specific conditions and more to the point are not a normal part of Trichinella spiralis' life cycle; it involves interaction with other species. According to Dickson DePallier who made Trichinella.org, the referenced website, the immune response is driven up in the animal after the animal is infected and that this is probably to reduce competition and increase the probability that the host will meet its end in a predation situation.
