'''Brandon McInerney''' was falsely accused of committing a [[hate crime]] in connection with his murder of an older [[gay]] student, after the older student "had been dressing in women's accessories and wearing makeup, and was flirting aggressively with male students on campus who did not want the attention"<ref>http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/lanow/2011/11/brandon-mcinerney-school-criticized-by-both-sides-in-gay-teen-slaying-case.html</ref> at a [[public school]] in [[California]].

In McInerney's much-publicized jury trial, '''''all 12 jurors rejected the politically driven claim of prosecutors that he had committed a hate crime'''''.<ref>http://abcnews.go.com/Nightline/video/execution-style-killing-classroom-14669728</ref>  The jury refused to convict him, and he later pled guilty to reduced charges and a shorter prison sentence.  The [[lamestream media]], however, continued to falsely portray the murder as somehow having been a hate crime, failing to include the view of the jurors.
