Andy Warhol was a 20th century artist who also happend to be a homosexual and a New Yorker. He pioneered 'Pop Art' which used pop-culture imagery to make beautiful paintings, a paradoxical process. He died in the 1980s, long after Pop art had faded and he had lost notoriety.
