:::I think "Darwin fish" refers to Ichthyostega, an early tetrapod which frequented weedy swamps, an environment where a shark would be completely unable to survive. In fact, one of the huge benefits of evolution is the avoidance of archaic, ill adapted predators by adopting new habitats. A shark would just beach itself, since it is so ill prepared to actually try to prey upon Ichthyostega, it would just helplessly flounder about in the shallows, dying a slow, agonizing death.
