Why would Lamr Smith, a republica nwho has criticized the Hollywood for its liberal bias<ref>http://lamarsmith.house.gov/News/DocumentSingle.aspx?DocumentID=263109</ref>, be pushing a bill at the behest of Liberal interests? Just because some of the supporters of this bill are liberals doesn't mean that it is a liberal issue. There are people on both sides supporting and opposing this bill. for example, Conservapedia and Wikipedia seem to be in agreement over the issue, and Wikipedia is 6 times more liberal than the rest of America.

I haven't been able to find anything online that suggests he is. The American Conservative Union gave him a lifetime rating of 92, and he is an opponent of abortions, drugs, homosexuality and fiscal waste. It seems that claims of him being a RINO started when this bill became unpopular, so I have to guess that calling him that is the GOP's way of distancing themselves from him, but copyright isn't a liberal vs conservative issue, and his support of this bill is not evidence of liberal influence, but the influence of big money copyright holders on both sides of the political spectrum.[[User:RachelW|RachelW]] 10:41, 19 January 2012 (EST)
