The '''1983 United States Embassy bombing''' (April 18, 1983) was a [[terrorist]] attack on a [[United States]] embassy compound in [[Beirut]], [[Lebanon]]. The attack was propagated by a truck bomb, carrying close to one ton of explosives.<ref>http://www.beirut-memorial.org/history/embassy.html</ref> Sixty-three people, including the [[CIA]]'s Middle East director, were killed, and 120 were injured.
