Although there have been many attempts to slander [[Christianity]] by claiming Hitler to be a Christian, Hitler was actually an atheist. While he may have said some things during speeches to make him sound like he was a Christian for political reasons, historians agree that the evidence points to him being an atheist. It is not just parts of his speeches, and text from his book ''Mein Kampf'' that prove this, but it was also proven by his actions as well. No true Christian would slaughter the Jews like Hitler did. That is the kind of hatred of a religion that could only come from atheism; that and his [[Evolutionary racism]]. <ref>http://www.doxa.ws/social/Hitler.html</ref> This is an excellent example of the corruption that atheism can cause to the morals of a person.

Despite the common myth that Hitler was an atheist, Hitler was actually a confirmed [[Roman Catholic]] Christian. In Mein Kampf, Hitler wrote, “by defending myself against the Jew, I am fighting for the work of the Lord”. However, he was not very strong in his religious beliefs, and it is likely he only mentioned [[Christianity]] in his speeches to gain the votes and favor of both Catholics and Protestants. Even as late as 1941 Hitler told one of his generals: “I am now, as before, a Catholic and will always remain so.”
