What do atheist evangelists and the Japanese soldier Lt. Hiroo Onada have in common?

Who is Lt. Hirroo Onada?

An excerpt of biography of Hirroo Onada reads:

In 1944, Lt. Hiroo Onoda was sent by the Japanese army to the remote Philippine island of Lubang. His mission was to conduct guerrilla warfare during World War II. Unfortunately, he was never officially told the war had ended; so for 29 years, Onoda continued to live in the jungle, ready for when his country would again need his services and information. Eating coconuts and bananas and deftly evading searching parties he believed were enemy scouts, Onoda hid in the jungle until he finally emerged from the dark recesses of the island on March 19, 1972.

Why is the Christianity vs. atheism war over? When the leading member of the New Atheism movement (supposedly a militant atheism movement), Richard Dawkins admits he is a wimpy agnostic in a debate, you know atheism lost badly.

If that wasn't bad enough consider this information:

In 2011, the American Spectator declared concerning research published in the International Bulletin of Missionary Research:
{{cquote|The report estimates about 80,000 new Christians every day, 79,000 new Muslims every day, and 300 fewer atheists every day. Eric Kaufmann, a professor at Birkbeck, University of London, using a a wealth of demographic studies argues the decline of atheism in terms of itd global adherents is an established trend that will persist for the foreseeable future and the rate of decline will accelerate. In addition, Kaufmann argues that religious conservatism has a long term trend of rising and that their influence in the world will significantly increase. Kaufmann is author of the book Shall the Religious Inherit the Earth?. In the Western World due to immigration and the higher birth rates of religious people, Kaufman writes: "Committed religious populations are growing in the West, and will reverse the march of secularism before 2050."

The Birkbeck College, University of London professor Eric Kaufman wrote in his 2010 book Shall the Righteous Inherit the Earth? concerning America:
