However, science has not proven a causative link between homosexuality and domestic violence. Other possibilities would include that gay couples are more willing to report domestic violence thus increasing that amount of documented cases, while heterosexual couples do not. Therefore, under this premise both heterosexual and homosexual groups could have statistically insignificant domestic abuse rates, while only reporting motivations give an illusion of higher rates.
