Having read all three books in the series, while not necessarily inherently critical of Big Government--one of the "protagonist" societies in the third book turns out to have a pretty totalitarian bent, up until the point at which they betray the protagonist--the books do provide an excellent illustration of the tendencies of power to corrupt.--[[User:Guitarsniper|Guitarsniper]] 00:36, 27 March 2012 (EDT)
