I'm surprised that the article does not even mention this form of self-denial practiced by Catholics (and some Anglicans). Anyone who goes to Chicago or the Northeast U.S. will notice the ubiquity of the Lenten fish fry. If no one wants to expand the article to include this practice, I can work on it these next few days.
