'''Rob Sherman''' is a political activist from the greater Chicago, IL area. He has stated that he is "a civil rights activist" for the [[atheist]] community. Sherman was present at the debate between [[William Lane Craig]] and [[Frank Zindler]] in 1993 at Buffalo Grove, IL. Before and after the debate, Sherman gave brief presentations in which almost nobody showed interest. When he asked to give a tally about who would support passing Federal Legislation in support of "Atheist rights" the far majority of the audience said, "No."

Many atheist lawyers and political activists, including Rob Sherman, often challenge laws they claim to be unconstitutional, yet in reality are silly. One case that Sherman brought up was when he challenged a '''moment of silence''' in which he received support from Hooters women in Springfield, Illinois. This type of meaningless lawsuits are common especially in the [[American Atheists]] organization. The reason why it is meaningless for these atheists to participate in this activity is because they think everything is meaningless and there is no right and wrong, thus, there's is nothing wrong with having a moment of silence or a cross as a sign of memorial.
