The party won the parliamentary election in October 2007 and created coalition government with centre agrarian [[Polish People's Party]] (''Polskie Stronnictwo Ludowe''). In 2010 Civic Platform's candidate [[Bronisław Komorowski]] won presidential election and became the President of Poland, and in 2011 the party won the parliamentary election again, which makes it the first party since the fall of communism which remained in power after subsequent election with Donald Tusk being the longest serving prime minister.
