Sublime was an American rock band formed in Long Beach, California in 1988. Their music is described as a blend of punk, ska, and reggae. They consisted of Bradley Nowell, Eric Wilson, and Bug Gaugh; however, Nowell, the lead singer, died of a heroin overdose in 1996, effectively ending the band.[1]
In 2009, Rome Ramirez replaced Nowell and the band reformed as Sublime With Rome.
Music and Success
Their most notable album was their third, also titled Sublime, which brought them mainstream popularity. Also popular were three of their singles: "Date Rape," "Wrong Way," and "What I Got" appealing to less than edifying subject matter. In total, they have sold about 17 million records.
