  • I'm not sure if Edgar Allen Poe is a good example for adoption... he became an alcoholic, married his first cousin, and was obsessed with death...--IScott 21:15, 14 March 2009 (EDT)

These are widely known and undisputed examples. Michael Reagan, for example, even entitled his book "Twice Adopted" (once by Ronald Reagan, and second by Christ). With all due respect, I don't think we need to hide these examples on the talk page for lack of an internet citation.--Andy Schlafly 11:44, 15 March 2009 (EDT)

Alexander VI

Andy: I don't think Pope Alexander VI is a good example. He almost single handedly furthered the cause of Protestantism by his corruption, nepotism and general high-handedness. He was your standard Renaissance leader who, while burning the heretic, forgave the sins and furthered the careers of his immoral and degenerate family and had illegitimate children coming out his ears.
