This article appears to be nonsense.

Presumably the original author is referring to the addition and subtraction of integers, or "signed numbers"; however algebraic addition has no meaning whatsoever. The author might just be referring to vector arithmetic: see http://www.mcasco.com/p1va.html, for example; however, as it stands it needs to be deleted.--AvengingAngel 16:57, 15 May 2007 (EDT)
