Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves is that if you are honest and clever like Ali Baba, Allah will grant you great wealth. Surely granting Ali Baba stolen property is wrong (I'm assuming the treasure in the cave was stolen). It should be returned to its rightful owner. Do the Christian an Islamic approaches to property and ownership differ? WhatIsG0ing0n 15:22, 15 April 2007 (EDT)

Actually, the story is probably pre-Islamic. And if not, the story is no more "Islamic" than Dumas' Count of Monte Cristo - who also found fabulous wealth - is "Christian". AlanE 18:01, 21 August 2008 (EDT)
