I think the numbers are bad. It was 700 Greeks, not 7000--Elamdri 18:34, 30 April 2007 (EDT)
Here is my understanding of the numbers issue. Some 5,000 Greeks were in the pass. When the Persians flanked their positions through the goatpath, Leonidas told all the Greeks to leave, save his 300. 700 Thespians voluntarily stayed behind. I think. GodlessLiberal 22:24, 30 April 2007 (EDT)
So all those wgo stayed behind died right?--Will N. 10:16, 8 May 2007 (EDT)
