Talk:Black Metal
List of bands
I added it so parents reading this could get an idea of what names to be wary of when you look on your child's ipod, but it looks like an ugly block of text to me. If some one can think of a more elegant way to present it, that would be great.

Moving
This should be moved under name Black metal because Black Metal is name of Venom album, and black metal name for music style. --Miihkali 17:07, 14 June 2008 (EDT)
- Depends on whether this site follows the convention of capitalizing names of music genres. Many Metalheads capitalize Metal and Metal sub-genres out of reverence or something. Anyway, I'm inclined to agree with you, but the page for the album (if this site actually needs a page for it???) can always be called "Black Metal (album)". Bands
I added some christian black metal bands to the list with (christian) beside them and i removed venom from the list since its a death metal band not a black metal band.
- Venom is in no way death metal, dude. :P They are just Motörhead with worse production.Jewishfanofnsbm 01:01, 6 October 2008 (EDT)
- I still would add them to the list of bands, though musically they were more likely thrash with influences from style which is now called black metal, those days Venom was commonly referred as black metal. Also, Venom is traditionally categorised to black metal, and even when their music is quite similar to thrash, their poorly produced sound, high and fast guitars and satanic imaginery is what normally makes bands black metal. --Miihkali 16:47, 15 November 2008 (EST)
How can something be Secular and Satanic?
Black metal does truly bite when it comes to sound an message but does that really justify for such a contradiction in the introduction to this topic as secular and Satanic?Secular refers to a lack thereof of any religious preferences at all and a stance of neutrality whereas something satanic would dictate that it takes on a religious role and a worship of Satan.isn't that contradictory to the idea of secularism and vice versa?
- Google LaVeyan Satanism, and Theistic Satanism. They're two different things.--JasonN 10:21, 7 January 2010 (EST)
