Can someone explain why this was deleted? Epic Theater has been one of the most important movements of theater in the last century. I agree that the section wasn't expanded yet, but it was in the process of being created. As this form of theater was one of the major contributors to the perpetuation of the communist movement in Germany (which subsequently expanded through to the United States), I believe it deserves, at the very least, a mention.

• Epic Theatre is a theatrical style that developed in the early 20th century, primarily attributed to the work of Bertolt Brecht and the Berliner Ensemble. With a political basis in Communism, it attempts to reconcile the differences between entertainment and education to create a politically informing performance. This is through a process of Verfremdung (disassociation) of the audience.

Also phrases like attempts to reconcile the differences between entertainment and education smack of liberal, pro-Communist bias. Can you write a balanced account?

Ed, could you restore the content of the article on this talk page? If this user has laid some factual groundwork (even if it smacks of liberal bias), it would be a lot faster to get going and we could still demonize epic theater as commie rot. KyleDD 15:47, 16 October 2010 (EDT)

I don't know about Professor Poor, but I could restore it, if the author is willing to be truthful in portraying Epic for what it truly is. When I looked at it, all I saw was a seemingly apologist tract in the making. I will restore it, given the conversation above. I have given it a rewrite, which while still flawed, I believe is an improvement. The entertainment and education line is not a broad throw-away statement, but actually represents a key idea in his work. While any education from this theater type is blantantly liberal and anti-capitalist, it was (and therefore I believe should be noted) his intention to both entertain and education. Donald
