"Hypothesis"

A hypothesis is not identical to a theory. According to the Merriam-Webster Online, a hypothesis is "an assumption or concession made for the sake of argument." This article is about a theory, defined as "the analysis of a set of facts in their relation to one another." In the interest of accuracy, this article should not state "Global warming theory is... a hypothesis." The two words are not synonyms--NotAnIdeologue 12:30, 29 November 2007 (EST)

A hypothesis is an educated guess, not an assumption used for the sake of an argument, did you forget 10th grade science?

This article is terrible! Its characterization of what AGW proponents claim is completely wrong.--Frey 00:22, 2 March 2008 (EST)

rewrite

I would like to completely rewrite this article. As it stands now, it's simply one or two sentences that go out of their way to attack global warming. Doctor CBThe Doctor is In 18:33, 16 April 2008 (EDT)

It needs a definition of the theory from someone who actually espouses the theory. Asking Art Robinson for a definition of global warming theory is like asking a candidate for office to define his opponent's tax plan. You might get an exaggeration, you might get an outright lie, you will most likely not get the truth. I keep meaning to rewrite it myself, but I can never seem to get around to it.--Frey 23:37, 16 April 2008 (EDT)
Exactly my feelings.... I will start a draft on this and see if I can get it up soon Doctor CBThe Doctor is In 23:55, 16 April 2008 (EDT)
Actually the article AGW hypothesis has a much better and more comprehensive definition. Maybe we should delete this article entirely.--Frey 16:44, 19 April 2008 (EDT)
