Talk:Hernando Cortez

This article is absurd. Cortez marched an army into the homes of another culture and forced them to convert or die. Hid aim was the collecting of gold. Many historical sources very clearly point out the motivation for much of the Spanish warfare in the New World. Cortez was a murderer. It is the exact same thing as a group of Muslims with advanced weapons invading the US to convert everyone to Islam.

Besides that, Cortez was a dunce when it comes to military strategy. He survived because of a great deal of luck.

I agree...he wanted gold...the Aztecs were nothing but savage slaves in his eyes. It's ridiculous to think he was killing them for Christ. Czolgolz 13:58, 26 March 2007 (EDT)
