Notability
Does anyone else think that this person doesn't really seem to be notable enough to warrant their own entry in an encyclopedia? Sulgran 23:40, 8 April 2007 (EDT)
Terrorist
Gill was a lot of things - a murderer, a criminal, a scumbag - but his shooting spree was not politically motivated, and thus, given CPs own definition of terrorism (as well as any reasonable definition of the word) he was not a "terrorist." AliceBG 12:05, 12 June 2008 (EDT)
Atheist?
Someone saying that he hated God is not an indication that he was an atheist. If anything, it shows that he did believe in God. Mentioning a Bible passage which does not say that atheists hate God is irrelevant to the fact that there is no evidence that KG ever self-identified as anything in regard to religion - or the absence of it. There is no evidence of KG having been an atheist, yet the Atheist category has been repeatedly re-added. The only self-identification from KG in regard to his identity is that he was a goth - which is about music, clothes etc., not religion. Even if he carried out the Dawson College shooting in connection to being a goth, it still does not indicate anything about his religious beliefs or lack of them. - Someone saying they hate God does not equate to theism. Read Richard Dawkin's writings on God, where he calls God every single slanderous word he can think of. Dawkins clearly hates God (though he doesn't use the exact term). Many atheists express a clear contempt of God, for various reasons.[1][2] I want Conservative's perspective on this if we're going to remove him (Cons originally added him). - That still doesn't indicate that KG was an atheist - there's no evidence of him self-identifying as anything other than a goth. He didn't say he was an atheist, nor did his family, the media etc. No source says he was an atheist, so why claim that he was? Hating God doesn't indicate atheism. - Hating God also definitely doesn't indicate theism, something you've claimed several times -- many atheists clearly hate God, and hating God seems to be something significantly more common among atheists. - I've heard, in person, people of various religions (as well as less religious people) express anger and hatred towards God for various reasons. Those two extremely biased sources that you cited on this talk page don't give any evidence that many atheists say that they hate God; you only have the authors' claims that they heard that said by them. Even if there were proof that most atheists have expressed hatred towards God, that still wouldn't show that KG was an atheist. I don't know why you claim that a category can only be removed by the editor who added it - that's not how any online encyclopedia works. The burden of inclusion rests with the editor(s) who want it included. Are there any reliable sources which state that KG was an atheist? No, there aren't - so there's no justification for claiming that he was one. Assigning any religiously or politically based information to a person obviously requires reliable sourcing.
