Talk:Marriage privatization

From Conservapedia

I am aware that this page does not provide much information on the Conservative opposition to marriage privatization. However, I could not find much conservative information replying specifically to marriage privatization. There is a lot opposing same-sex marriage (and civil unions) but almost none replying specifically to this. As always, feel free to improve on this page. Particularly, if you can find conservative info, go ahead and add it. Or if you know more than me, feel free to add more. Gregkochuconn 10:22, 29 July 2011 (EDT)

Opposition

And why should there be opposition. Whose there to say that your authority applies to everyone, unless you are the government? brenden 13:37, 10 May 2012 (EDT)

The issue is whether the government should define marriage (the current situation) as either including or excluding same-sex unions (the current situation), or whether the government should not have that power. And as a fiscally conservative libertarian, I tend to disagree with the "unless you are the government" part, at least on most issues. But assuming you feel otherwise (which by your statement, I'm guessing you do), you pretty much answered your own question. Gregkochuconn 18:17, 12 May 2012 (EDT)
