What I removed: "Opus Dei members tend to be more receptive to the theory of evolution than other devout Christians are, and Opus Dei events sometimes feature advocates of somehow reconciling the theory of evolution with Christianity.[1]"

My Opus Dei center hosts ID speakers and advances a different picture of origins than traditional evolution. That said, "somehow" in the text I removed is troubling because not all Catholics view themselves as Christians in the evangelical sense, to the extent that worldview isn't consonant with accepting the theory of evolution. There are many approaches to faith. If this is a creationist wiki please let me know and I'll stay away from subjects like this.. Nate 23:38, 11 October 2010 (EDT)

On further reflection, I don't even understand what I removed means so I'm putting it back. The point the author intended seems to be to include Catholics with American Evangelicals, which I am not, so I don't have any insight into the thinking that went into the text I removed. Perhaps the author could comment on what Catholics have in common with American Evangelicals on this subject. Creationism is not particularly well-received at my church. Intelligent design is much more favorably accepted. Nate 23:45, 11 October 2010 (EDT)
