Parody Religion?

What prevents this religion from being a real religion instead of a "parody religion"?--JamesLipton 17:11, 15 March 2007 (EDT)

What is a “parody” religion? It strikes me as an attempt to shuffle the argument of the “Flying Spaghetti Monster” off to one side without meeting the argument. I don’t know that the motives (undeniable) of those putting the argument forward are a cogent argument against the soundness of the argument. Nor does the injection of humour into the debate invalidate it. It would be perfectly possibly to couch the FSM argument in dry, academic, terms (mainly by starting every assertion with “If I said…..”) the removal of wit would not strengthen the argument: just make it a little dull.--Toffeeman 11:55, 26 March 2007 (EDT)
