Sorry Bugler, didn't see this until now....those previous uprisings were not "from the ground up". They were mainly caused by the treatment of a conquered people by an invader, and they were both led by a political elite - either the formidable queen herself after what was done to her and her daughters; or the remnants of the Saxon nobility finding they were being given no place in the new scheme of things. As was normal - still is - the little people copped it in return. The 1381 revolt was a genuine popular uprising concerned with genuine working class gripes, and with not a toff amongst 'em.
