No. See for example [1]. The word is definitely "Sepoy". If anyone called it merely an "Indian" mutiny, people might get it confused with Wounded Knee or something. There are many kinds of Indians. --Annie 17:20, 15 August 2008 (EDT)

Annie, a mutiny is a military uprising. Which Wounded Knee was not. The Sepoys were the Indian soldiers of the East Indian Company. Perhaps it is an American thing. It is also a leftist or Indian Nationalist thing. Have a look at the works cited in the website you quoted. Most of them quote either Indian or Mutiny or both. (Bulliet, whose work is refered to in the CP article has an anti-West agenda).I have read some of them. I didn't suggest it be changed...I just stated a fact as I know it....my two encyclopedias (one American) and 6 of the 7 books I first looked at call it "Mutiny". Both can be right.
