External Link
I think the first external link should be removed, as it has almost nothing to do with the subject. But as it was added by a Sysop, I don't feel removing is the smartest course of action. JDavidsonLeave a message ::BEEP:: 22:59, 21 May 2008 (EDT)
- I don't see how the first external link doesn't relate. DanH 23:31, 21 May 2008 (EDT)
- I'm sorry, I don't think I explained myself very well.... I meant the first one added, which is simply an opinion piece from the American Thinker. The first one added is now the second one on the list... I apologise for any confusion JDavidsonLeave a message ::BEEP:: 15:03, 22 May 2008 (EDT)
The character's name as a term of abuse
It's odd that people would use this character's name to mean a black man who is too submissive, when Uncle Tom actually refused to submit on matters of principle even when his life was at stake. It's as foolish as calling someone a Pollyanna for indulging in wishful thinking, because the heroine of Pollyanna was eminently practical and realistic in her search for the silver lining in the dark clouds that came her way. --Ed Poor Talk 16:00, 2 April 2009 (EDT)
