The second image line didn't work properly... Karajou 14:12, 2 December 2009 (EST)

Reworked. Place for a second image; first image at the top is intended for a photo of the object itself, while the second image is meant for a star map location. Karajou (talk) 10:07, 8 January 2018 (EST)

Template looks better its broken on some pages with some things having pairs of square brackets, e.g. Orion nebula. I think it would be better to not having the links embedded in the template as for some things (mainly constellations) the name of the constellation doesn't go to the correct page. e.g. the page for Draco is at Draco (constellation). I tried using piped links, so putting "Draco (constellation)|Draco" for the field but it doesn't seem to work:
Night Sky
Observational Data
Constellation Draco (constellation)
Type of object Nebula
Astrometry
Distance from Earth 1,344±20 ly
Other than that, the new template looks good. FredericBernard (talk) 10:42, 9 January 2018 (EST)
The brackets were necessary for linking pages with the old version of the template, and they will have to be removed from each page over time, but no big hurry. The new template will make its own links. Karajou (talk) 11:21, 9 January 2018 (EST)
I've found a way to deal with the naming problem which is to use {{!}} to replace a pipe character so there aren't any problems with links. Might be good to mention it on the template documentation. I'll start going through and removing the brackets . FredericBernard (talk) 07:35, 10 January 2018 (EST)
There is a problem with the radial velocity field appearing but not having any value on some pages, e.g. Cat's eye nebula. I think a space is needed on the template, so we have "{{!}} {{{radvelocity|}}}" instead of "{{!}}{{{radvelocity|}}}".
Fixed. Karajou (talk) 08:39, 10 January 2018 (EST)
