I don't want this template added to any more articles, pending an explanation of its purpose. I would also suggest some community discussion of it.

I'm absolutely in favour of community discussion of the template. As such, i have raised it on Ashaflys user talk page as per your suggestion, and also on the Village pump equivalent, to generate some discussion. Personally, I think this template is a much needed warning. As i said on my talk page earlier, this template should serve as a useful template to put on controvertial articles, to warn readers that the article at any given time is not necessarily representative of the conservative position, due to the relentless vandals that some of the more controvertial articles on this site seem to attract.
