(Redirected from Tenochtitlan)
Tenochtitlan was the capital of the Aztec empire, built on an island in Lake Texcoco. The lake was largely drained and modern day Mexico City is built on the remains of the former Aztec city.
Its population was probably about 150,000 at the time of the Spanish conquest.[1]
