The Crusaders (fictional duo)

The Crusaders are a duo of Christians involved in daring operations against enemies of the faith (and, in some cases, actual demonic activity), featured in a series of 24 full-length comics published by Chick Publications.

The "Crusaders" in the series are:

• Timothy Emerson Clark, a former Green Beret. He is portrayed as White. As mentioned in Operation Bucharest, the first comic in the series, Clark shares his name with his uncle, portrayed as the United States Ambassador to France (however, no person named Timothy Emerson Clark - or any variation on that name - ever actually served in that capacity).
• James Carter, a former narcotics gang leader, who is portrayed as Black.
