The Streak (song)

The Streak is a novelty comedy song by comedian/singer Ray Stevens. It is by far his best-known work.

In the song, an "Action News" reporter is at several scenes where a male streaker has been seen in public, each verse being at a different location (a grocery store, a gas station, and a high school gymnasium during the basketball playoffs). The reporter speaks to an individual who witnessed the event, and mentions that he tried to warn his wife, Ethel, not to look ("don't look, Ethel!") only to be too late. The verses are in spoken word while the chorus is sung.

After the third rendition of the chorus, the individual notices that (to his dismay) Ethel has joined the streaker in his activities.
