The Third Man (1949) was voted the greatest movie of the entire 20th century by the British Film Institute. It is also one of the greatest movies of the film noir genre.

The movie was directed by Sir Carol Reed, and starred Orson Welles, Joseph Cotten, and Alida Valli.

This film is widely admired for its tremendous acting, stark black-and-white Dutch angle cinematography (for which it won an Oscar in 1950[1]), screenplay, and musical score.
