Transgender and Minnesota:

In 2023, the Dem-controlled ("DFL"-controlled) Minnesota legislature banned gender-identity discrimination, with no religious exemption.

In early 2024, Republicans sought to correct that oversight. Dems responded, it wasn't an oversight and refused to add the exemption.

Then the "executive director of the Islamic Association of North America, testified before a [Minnesota] Senate committee saying Islamic religious institutions will be vulnerable to unjustified government interference if lawmakers don’t restore a religious exemption."[1]

Dems then restored the exemption, but at least one DFL member continued to howl against allowing a religious exemption.
