USB B

USB B is a less common type of Universal Serial Bus (Universal Serial Bus) connector. It usually is used with type-A to connect higher-load items to computers like USB hubs and printers. In general, these will be connected to a computer with a conversion cable, which has type-A on one end and type-B on the other. There are two subtypes of USB Type-B--they are Standard-B and Powered-B.[1][2]

USB type A is used by many different things, including:

  • USB Hubs (Devices multiple other USB devices may be attached to)
  • Printers
  • USB A to USB B Converters
