User:DMorris/Blocking Proposal

I realize that many here at Conservapedia do not like Wikipedia, but in my opinion, their blocking policies are much more effective than those at Rat-Wiki. That said, I want to avoid adopting blocking policies that in any way resemble those at Rat-Wiki. We should be no more tolerant of idiotic vandalism and trolling than Wikipedia or the average internet forum. So here's what I propose:

• Simple vandalism (writing hearts, smiles, "hi", random characters, or other cutesy things on pages, simple blanking of pages, and removing contents from pages without explaination; basically what Wikipedia calls "test edits")
  • Give three warnings on their user page: the first being welcoming, the second being friendly, but a bit more bold, and the third being threatening. Block if abuse persists after the third and final warning. Blocks should be indefinite, but with instructions on how to appeal the block for a second chance. Use of autoblock should be at the descretion of the blocking admin. Always run checkuser to check for socks.

• Blatantly malicious vandalism (vandalism that was clearly intended to disrupt and not just some middle school girl experimenting with the wiki interface, like adding irrelevant text attacking conservatism, Christianity, or Conservapedia or her users, replacing pages with expletives, creating attack pages, etc. Attacking those subjects means to randomly write things like "conservatism is g**", "andy is a nutjob", or "Christians deserve to die," not just merely arguing against conservatism or Christianity on talk pages.)
  • Treat the same as simple vandalism, but run checkuser immediately to check for socks. Regardless of whether there are socks, if the user ends up blocked, notify DMorris so an abuse report can be filed. Use autoblock.

• Username violations
  • If the username is just silly, do a softblock asking the user to recreate their account with a different name. If the username is patently offensive, like if it contains expletives or attacks on Conservatism, hardblock the account.

• Sockpuppetry
  • Immediate ban, and notify DMorris so an abuse report can be filed.

• Harassment
  • Depending on the degree of the harassment, warn three times like with vandalism, or warn once. Block after final warning and notify DMorris so an abuse report can be filed.
